Nimcat Networks is a leading provider of embedded Peer-to-Peer (P2P) call processing software. Nimcat P2P software runs on standard Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone sets. Using the processing and memory components of the VoIP set, the Nimcat-enabled solution eliminates the need for costly central equipment.

Nimcat IP-based products allow small businesses to benefit from cost effective and feature rich telephony solutions. These solutions are easy to use, less expensive than traditional PBX or Centrex based architectures, and require no specialized installation.

Industry forecasting experts have predicted approximately 40M new lines/year of IP-based PBX will be deployed worldwide by 2006. In North America alone, it is forecast that about 6M lines will be installed in 2006. Over the next few years, IP-PBX technology is expected to have close to an 80% average growth rate.

Nimcat Networks Inc. was founded in April of 2002. Series A financing was led by Skypoint Capital. with participation from Innovatech, Siemens Venture Capital (SVC), Broadcom , and BDC . This financing will be used for product development, operations, and sales and marketing initiatives.
